Sussex is geting its own real-life ‘wizarding school’ when Bothwell School of Witchcraft opens its door in August 2017.
Guests play characters in a wizarding school and take part in lessons during the weekend which will take place on the 11th-13th August at the Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, UK.
Standard tickets range from £400-£500 including 2 nights accommodation at Herstmonceux as well as all meals.
Organisers say: “It’ll be a dream come true for those attending the Bothwell School of Witchcraft, as all those who missed their owl as children can finally attend a real School of Witchcraft.”
The three day and two night event is run by Rogue Events Limited who have partnered with the team who have previously organised similar events at Czocha Castle, Poland and New World Magischola, USA.
Project coordinator Claus Raasted said: “I’m really happy that they have picked up the wand and are bringing this event to Britain.”
Tickets for Bothwell School of Witchcraft will be sold via a Kickstarter campaign to be launched on 28 March 2017.
The weekend is currently for over 18s and organisers hope to make it an annual event.
Co-Founder Cameron Readman said: “Creating this amazing experience for our potential guests is really exciting. We want to make it the best we can and I can’t wait to show everyone more of what we have planned!”
Organiser Stuart Munnich said: “When we arrived at Herstmonceux for the first time we knew immediately that it was the right place. It just felt magical,”
One of the oldest significant brick buildings still standing in England, Herstmonceux Castle which is owned by Queen’s University, Canada is normally used as an International Study Centre.
