On Sunday afternoon, 23rd of June, a group of young individuals stormed the Brighton Marina ASDA store with their bikes. The incident that left the members of public stunned and frightened is still under investigation by Sussex Police and the Metropolitan Police. The police renewed its public appeal for more information about the incident.
The youth have cycled through Asda, disturbing customers and stealing biscuits and Red Bull. Some shoppers reported being hit and punched in the chest by the cyclists. For more information visit the Sussex police website here.
‘Brighton and Hove Police are continuing to investigate an incident of antisocial behaviour involving a number of youths on bikes at the Brighton supermarket’.
‘We are keen to encourage any victims or witnesses who may have been in the area of the Asda store at Brighton Marina around 4.30pm on 23 June, to contact us.’
There is currently a video on social media of the incident that the Metropolitan police is working on to identify the culprits. The youths are suspected of being from London, therefore making the identification process more difficult for the police and especially for the public.
‘I want to make it very clear that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour and are working hard to track down this group.’
