We know we don’t have to tell you how important we think it is that Brighton locals support local businesses. We believe that if we collectively turn away from multinational organisations and towards those wonderful and talented makers and traders on our doorsteps, we can be part of generating a strong and sustainable grass-roots economy and a culture that champions local enterprise, which benefits the local community by circulating money locally and helping everyone take a step forward together. If you are passionate about supporting local makers and traders, or are simply looking for something unique to give to someone you love this Christmas, then you won’t want to miss the takeover of the Brighthelm Centre for Paper Daisy Events’ huge Christmas market!

Local makers will be filling out the Brighthelm Centre next weekend in Paper Daisy Events’ biggest and best fair of the year, and organisers are determined to bring some true Christmas spirit to the centre of Brighton.

You’re in for a real festive treat, with an excellently curated Street Food & Makers Market and over 50 eclectic stallholders taking over the Brighthelm Centre and gardens.

Makers such as; H Y D E will be selling their bespoke leather goods, Glitter and Gem their unique, hand-cut gemstones, plus Sew Me Up will be back selling their creative Children’s masks. You can treat yourself to some tasty Hoogly Tea for home brewing, wrap up warm with some PigHouse knitwear, and even purchase some unique handcrafted wooden jewellery from Vannucchi.

Don’t worry about getting hungry at a Paper Daisy Event, as they’ve got that covered! You’ll be spoilt for choice in the gardens with their largest ever street food market. A full menu will be posted just before the event but as a little taster organisers have revealed that there will be delicious hot potatoes from Posh Spuds, vegan food from Earth & Soul Kitchen, a Mr Delicious Hog Roast and of course some Jamaican Jerk from Aunty Bunny! For dessert you’re also in for a treat; with tasty tray bakes from Ridiculously Rich By Alana, and delicious baked cakes and savouries from Betsy’s Bake. If its chilly outside or you want to take a break, you can take your food inside and eat, with a hot drink from th indoor pop up café, raising money for Chestnut Tree House.

As always, there’ll be entertainment on the day for you and the children. There will be a live band with local professional musicians outside throughout the day. But organisers also have a very special performance inside the Auditorium from local singers, We Bop Brighton’s All Female A Capella Choir. The performance begins at 1pm and is a sure-fire way to get you in the festive mood! Why not pop along a little before and get your face decorated with the Paper Daisy resident professional face painter. Or even try your hand at the Paper Daisy treasure hunt, helping to raise more money for Chestnut Tree House!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa, so I’m sure he will make a visit with his elves….keep those eyes peeled 😉 They’ll also have their special Santa post box with them, so you can be sure your Children’s letters make it to Santa in time for Christmas!
