A Brighton-based business has made a remarkable impact over the past year, giving more than £79,560 in time or money for a range of local and national charities.
Groundsure, a leading environmental and climate data company, has proved that community and compassion are firmly at the heart of its operations. With a dedicated team and a passion for giving back, the company has channelled its efforts into supporting a wide range of charities and local initiatives, showcasing the power of local business to drive real change.
Groundsure’s team rolled up their sleeves and raised funds for causes that matter. Staff also took part in volunteering days while balancing their work at the company’s office in The Lanes. The result has been a year of generosity, team spirit and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
The team have worked with the Wildflower Conservation Society and South Downs National Park Trust Stanmer Park, Brighton, to rake, plant and shear a meadow, working to restore some of the diversity that had been lost.
Groundsure spent a day volunteering at FareShare’s warehouse in Moulsecoomb. They packed orders to go out to some of the 144 charities and community groups that the charity helps, taking food that would go to waste from supermarkets and local restaurants and redistributing it to those in need.
Staff have also supported the incredible Rockinghorse Children’s Charity in Brighton, wrapping presents to bring some Christmas cheer to their young patients, as well as volunteering for Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare and taking part in the Brighton Marathon for a range of charities.
Since its inception, Groundsure has collaborated with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), providing crucial disaster preparedness and response mapping. They’ve also been involved in supporting long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts. Over the past year, the team has dedicated more than 100 hours to this important cause.
In 2023, Groundsure proudly became a Certified B Corporation, showing its dedication to a healthier planet, a positive work environment and developing resilient, happier communities
Groundsure’s success over the last year is a shining example of how businesses of any size can step up and play a vital role in supporting those in need, locally and nationally.
With plans already underway for another year of fundraising and community action, Groundsure shows no signs of slowing down.
