From Burnout to Award-Winning Business Owner: Brighton Founder Launches Mentorship Program to Help Purpose Led Entrepreneurs Make Waves

Brighton-based entrepreneur Lyndsey Clay, founder of the award-winning community brand Connected Brighton, is launching a new mentorship program this June and it’s rooted in personal transformation.

The new 3 month program, Making Waves, is designed for founders, creatives and small business owners who feel stuck, unseen, or unsure how to move forward in their work. It’s not just business coaching it’s a real world roadmap built from Lyndsey’s own lived experience of rebuilding a life and career from the ground up.

Lyndsey left a high-flying corporate career to build a business that aligned with her values after experiencing infertility, miscarriage, and divorce. She started again from scratch, creating community led experiences that would reconnect people after the pandemic, support the local economy, and without realising it rebuild her life too. She launched Connected Brighton to reconnect locals post lockdown, support the city’s independent businesses, and create meaningful experiences that put people and community first. She has led hundreds of people to new friendships, collaborations, and opportunities through her concierge service.

Over the past few years, Lyndsey has been recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs, won Entrepreneur of the Year, and was recently Runner-Up for Brighton Girl of the Year 2025 – all by staying true to her values of connection, community, and courage.

A coveted speaker on her journey to award winning entrepreneurship, now she’s turning her focus to mentoring others.

Through Making Waves, Lyndsey is helping others rise, with the same energy and honesty that fuelled her own reinvention.

“I created what I needed when I was at rock bottom and I did it through being visible, telling my story and being authentic. This program is about helping people feel seen, build their brand, and show up with confidence too. No faking. Just real talk and real action that actually works and I know it works because I have done it,” says Lyndsey.

Making Waves covers three pillars – ClarityConfidence, and Content – with two live sessions a month, weekly action tasks, and lifetime access.

It’s open to anyone who wants to stop blending in and start making a bigger impact with their business, their message, and their story.
