After the thrilling 7-3 win over Bristol City away in the Women’s Super League, Brighton comes into the game with a lot of confidence against the challenging Manchester United. With six different scorers in the last game, the players and manager aim to replicate this performance and advance to the next stage of the cup.
On the other hand, despite some recent inconsistencies in the league, The Red Devils will be a formidable opponent. Their previous encounter with Brighton ended in a comfortable 2-0 victory for United, thanks to a brace from Nikita Parris. However, Brighton will be eager to avenge that defeat and progress further in the competition.
Interim manager Mikey Harris has sustained no new injuries since their last game and should have a full-strength team against Manchester United.
Both teams got to this Quarterfinals in a dominating fashion. As in the fourth round Brighton beat Luton Town 6-0 with all different goal scorers. In addition, United defeated Newcastle United scoring 5 goals to nothing to get to this stage of the cup.
In the Women’s FA Cup, these teams both met in the Semi-Final last year. The close back and-forth game came down to a heartbreaking last-minute winner by Rachel Williams as Manchester United knocked out Brighton and made it to the finals. However, United lost to Chelsea in the cup final, in an agonizing 1-0 loss.
Albion is looking for revenge for their loss after getting knocked out last year. With Brighton’s Norwegian striker Elisabeth Terland in fine form, having scored 11 goals so far this season, she will pose a significant threat to Manchester United’s defence
The Seagulls are aiming to progress through to the Semi-Finals again and challenge themselves to win the cup.
Predictions: Brighton 2-1 Manchester United
