The Cab Road Tunnel, a historical passageway beneath Brighton Station, will open to the public as part of The Dreamy Place festival next month. This free event offers a rare chance to explore the 80-meter tunnel, originally built for horse-drawn taxis serving station passengers.
Festival organizers plan to transform the tunnel with strobing lights and immersive sound for a show called “Ammonite.” The installation aims to create an illusion of organic movement, echoing the structure of a prehistoric shell.
Other festival highlights include:
- An interactive exhibition at Gallery Lock In, Little Western Street
- An evening of talks at Nile House, Nile Street
- Light sculptures in Crawley’s Queen’s Square (October 4-6)
- Interactive holograms at Crawley’s bandstand
The Dreamy Place festival will run in Crawley from October 4-6 and in Brighton from October 25-27. Most events are free and do not require booking.
