As we’ve entered the festive month of overindulgence, it would only be right to supply you with a calorific creation that generates excitement for your taste buds heading into Christmas. Whether you crack open a tin of Quality Streets, remove a mince pie from its packaging or watch the flames flicker over a rich Christmas pudding, the temptation throughout December is hard to ignore as we fulfil our winter evenings with sugary treats.

Okay, so it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but the big day is still three weeks away. Our cupboards may not be filled with the festive essentials just yet, so here is a recipe to keep you going until that big supermarket shop arrives in your kitchen.

If you love Chocolate, this simple but effective Oreo creation is perfect for you. The recipe is manageable for inexperienced bakers and leads to a luxurious end result that fulfils all your chocolate desires.

Instructions:

First of all, preheat the oven to 180 ºC and grease a square baking tray with butter, ready for the final mixture.

Melt the chunk of butter in a pan over medium heat, until a liquid substance is created and once the dark chocolate has been grated, combine together and stir well until a chocolate colour appears.

Crack three eggs into a bowl and then separate a further two egg yolks into the mix. Two teaspoons of vanilla extract can then be introduced before whisking the mixture until it appears light and fluffy.

Brown sugar can then be gradually added to the mix, whisking in between two separate additions of sugar around the edge of the current concoction, in order to avoid knocking the air from the mix that has been whisked in. The same process is then applied with the introduction of the chocolate substance that has already been prepared, adding it to the mix around the edge and whisking until a lighter chocolate colour is produced.

The remaining ingredients can then be added to the chocolate blend, however only using a third of the crushed Oreo cookies. The final mix can then be poured into the greased baking tray and decorated with the remaining Oreo cookies, scattering them across the rich chocolate substance.

Now you can sit back and relax whilst the mixture bakes in the oven for around 25-30 minutes, preferably on the middle shelf to avoid the brownies from burning. On completion, remove the bake from the oven and allow to cool, before dusting with icing powder and cutting into squares.

The Oreo Brownies are now ready to eat and share. You’re Welcome.
