Star of BBC One’s upcoming ‘Death in Paradise’ Australian spin-off series ‘Return to Paradise’ Lloyd Griffith is set to head out on his brand-new UK tour with stand-up show ‘Baroque and Roll’ from 27th July to 22nd November 2024. The 45-date tour includes some of the UK’s most iconic venues up and down the country and coming to Brighton on 9th October.
It’s a big year for Lloyd, he’s turning 40 and with it, the impending midlife crisis – or ‘renaissance’ as he’s insisting it’s called; complete with body hair removal, head hair additions, teeth whitening and obviously the obligatory half marathon sign up. It’ll be funny and yes, there’ll be the odd song or two from that magnificent voice of his.
Lloyd Griffith is a comedian, presenter, actor and a choirboy from Grimsby. A regular on TV, he is set to star in BBC One’s new Return To Paradise series, Australia’s spin-off series of Death In Paradise. He has also appeared on hugely popular shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Pointless Celebrities (BBC One), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), Rob Beckett’s Undeniable (Comedy Central), Live at The Comedy Store (Comedy Central), and Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC), to name a few. His stand-up special One Tonne of Fun is currently available on ITVX.
As an actor his credits include roles in Emmy Award winning series Ted Lasso (Apple), for which he was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award Honours for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. He appeared in Russell T Davies’ ITV series Nolly in which he plays much loved ‘Benny’ aka ‘Paul Henry’ from Crossroads, opposite Helena Bonham Carter. He has also appeared in Bad Education (BBC Three), Everyone Else Burns (C4), It’s a Sin (C4), Not Going Out (BBC One) and Mark Wahlberg’s feature film Infinite.
Lloyd also co-hosted Soccer AM (Sky One) every Saturday morning for 2 years alongside John Fendley and Jimmy Bullard, and co-hosted comedy action game show Flinch (Netflix) alongside Desiree Burch and Seann Walsh. He also fronted his own critically acclaimed BBC documentary Can You Beat The Bookies, receiving 4 stars from The Guardian, where he embarked on an experiment to find if he could uncover the secrets of gambling success and the truth about the industry.
On the live comedy circuit, he has previously supported Jack Whitehall’s UK Arena tours in 2023, 2020, 2019, and 2017, performing at iconic venues including Liverpool Echo, Newcastle Metro, London O2 and Wembley Arena. Lloyd has taken four of his own solo tours nationwide, with most being extended due to phenomenal demand.
Still a very active singer Lloyd can be heard performing with the choirs of Westminster Abbey, St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and various other nationwide groups.
