Perhaps harshly overlooked with snobbery and arguably something of a forgotten art form, video gaming is worth hundreds of millions of pounds and in July, the industry will assemble right here in Brighton.

Over 1,800 developers will congregate for a three day event between the 12th and 14th of July for Develop:Brighton, a conference with three simple tenets: insight, inspiration and networking. With the aim of uniting these developers, the industry will be well served with hundreds of visionaries sharing and swapping ideas for the sake of the advancement of the gaming market.

Moreover, developers will be able to listen to a keynote speech from gaming giant Hideo Kojima, the former vice president of Konami Digital Entertainment, who will no doubt impart some of his vast industry wisdom to all those in attendance.

Fittingly enough for Brighton, indie game developers will be heavily represented through both stalwarts of that market and newcomers alike. There will be several key facets which come into consideration when the devs assemble next month: design, art, coding, marketing, audio and business will all feature as crucial aspects of game development, while 2016 sees VR (virtual reality) come into its own category for the first time.

Once again, you can catch the conference at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton between the 12th and 14th of July – it should be out of this world!
