Music promoter Moth Events are bringing Fyfe Dangerfield to Ironworks Studios (30 Cheapside, Brighton) on December 16th.

Fyfe Dangerfield, best known as the lead singer of 2006 Mercury Prize nominees, cinematic pop outfit Guillemots, has spent much of the last decade gradually piecing together a vast & varied creative universe, the first fruits of which were shared in the beguiling Birdwatcher – a surreal & dreamlike twelve-episode audio series, available to stream at the online home of Fyfe’s production house, www.channelsmaychange.com.

Fyfe recently played an intimate show in London to announce his latest project “The Stream” – a never-ending, ever-changing, living, breathing album, in the form of a radio station, broadcasting 24/7 .. with the running order curated by Chance.

But 2025 has also seen him get back to doing something else he loves – gigging.

“As someone who can happily beaver away in my studio for months on end, it’s easy to get out of the practice of playing live shows. But Moth Events totally re-stoked that fifire in me earlier this year, when they invited me to play a show in Nantwich – it was such a joy! So since then, I’ve been playing a steady stream of gigs – popping up

here & there every few weeks. I’m really enjoying the particular style of these shows

too – they’re intimate and freeform and feel really laid-back. There’s no setlist, I just start the ball rolling with a song or two and then ask the audience for somesuggestions and we just go from there. Hopefully, rather than there being this big gulf between “performer” and “audience”, it feels much more like we’re all just hanging out together for the evening.”

Fyfe has had Brighton on his list to play for a while, so is looking forward to being back in Brighton

“Some of the earliest Guillemots gigs I remember playing were in Brighton. We used to stay in this kind of slightly dilapidated old hotel on the seafront, I remember .. it all felt very bohemian & exciting to my young self! But for some reason I’ve not played in Brighton for years now – so I’m so glad to be finally returning!”

Fyfe’s performance will be in two halves, and audience members are freely encouraged to come bearing song requests!

The show will be opened by Brighton based singer songwriter Alan Bonner, who has released five albums and toured internationally, peddling his own intoxicating brand of theatrical folk – inspired

piano based storytelling.
