‘Girls Make Music’ is a free workshop for aspiring female musicians or just those with a passion for sound. It’s part of AudioActive’s ‘Sessions’ programmes, that range from music production to professional mentoring for emerging artists. The event will be repeated on selected days throughout January and February.
The Brighton charity run a variety of workshops every week during term time, led by professional artists with industry experience. These include Music Production, Rap & Lyric Writing, Band & Live Production workshops and song writing skills. ‘Sessions’ runs in a range of locations across Brighton, Hove, Fishersgate and Eastbourne. Participants are also given opportunities to perform at small, open mic nights or larger gigs.
AudioActive are a charity aimed at young people interested in developing their musical talents. They “exist to bring about better futures through and for music”. They achieve this through education and talent development, and through social initiatives such as the Break4Change project.
‘Girls Make Music’ takes place tonight at the Brighton Youth Centre from 5:30pm to 7pm. You can register and book your free place at one of AudioActive’s workshop here.
