Further designs for a new leisure centre to replace the King Alfred have been shared and and the council want to hear what people want to see from the new facility.
People can find out more about the plans and share their views online in a survey. Go to: https://yourvoice.brighton-
The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete and is open until Friday 31 October.
The council want to hear from everyone, whether you currently use the centre, are part of a sports club, live nearby or are interested in using the new facility in the future. Your feedback will help to understand what facilities are important to residents and guide the decisions being made.
The survey share’s artist’s impressions of the building and gives everyone the opportunity to share their views on the facilities proposed to be included.
The project team are also available to answer any questions you might have about the project. Drop in and talk to them in the King Alfred Leisure Centre Ballroom on:
-
- Thursday 9 October (3pm to 8pm)
- Friday 10 October (1pm to 7pm)
- Saturday 11 October (8.30am to 12.30pm)
More information about the project and an opportunity to view the proposals will be on display in the foyer at the King Alfred Leisure Centre until the end of October.
Councillor Alan Robins, Cabinet member for Sports and Recreation, said: “We’ve already seen a fantastic response to the first look proposals and it’s clear that residents care very much about the King Alfred.
“The design team have developed a viable proposal for a modern leisure centre which makes best use of the site and can be delivered.
“To make sure it includes the facilities residents really want and need, now and in the future, we need to hear what is important to you.”
Richard Poulter, Willmott Dixon Managing Director Construction South Region said: “Our passion lies in delivering brilliant buildings, transforming lives, strengthening communities, and enhancing the environments within which we work.
