Shechter’s world renowned contemporary choreography has dazzled international audiences for a decade. The Hofesh Shechter Company inspire freedom of the human spirit explored through a celebration of visceral dance, of which they will bring to the stage at Brighton Dome on 6th November.

Since the first production of “Choreographer’s Cut” in 2008, Hofesh Shechter has since gone on to choreograph deeply political, emotive and sophisticated works that have hypnotised audiences worldwide.

Widely recognised as internationally-acclaimed artist, Shechter has created a new genre of contemporary dance: one that is both “instantly identifiable and yet so unique”

Explaining the style of his spectacle, Shechter states: “I want audiences to be awakened, to experience my work from the gut. Trusting the gut is to me like trusting nature, or God, or a sense of purpose; a source, a spark. Trusting a higher and better force than our limited oppressed cultured minds.”

SHOW is a combination of Shechter’s bold tribal choreography accompanied with a pulsating score composed by himself. Awakening audiences and driving change through dance, the performance is a “macabre circus of comedy, murder and desire.”

The performance of SHOW  is composed of three chilling acts: The Entrance, Clowns, and Exit. It’s hypnotic trajectory and bold composition has earned several five star reviews, including reviews from The New York Times and The Stage.

Driving a highly cinematic spectacle to the stage, audiences can expect Shechter’s work to be both empowering and deeply emotive and intimate. As the choreographer hopes the large space of theatre connects audiences through a sense of community, he also wants to amplify the sense and experience of emotion during a performance.

Hofesh Shechter is an Associate Artist of Sadler’s Wells and Hofesh Shechter Company is Resident Company at Brighton Dome.

Tuesday 6th November, Brighton Dome Concert Hall, Tickets £12.50-£17.50.
