The wet look has really taken over this summer and girls are looking to highlight to get that glow. But what other hacks are there to get glowing skin?
As a rule you should aim to moisturise everyday. It makes sure your skin stays smooth, hydrated and plump. It prepares and protects your face against the everyday dirt and grime of living in the modern world.
2. Mix Your Foundation With A Face Sun Cream
I’m sure you have heard by every beauty guru on Youtube already that you are supposed to use sun cream everyday. Especially on your face. It might just be me but that is a lot of effort seriously. I religiously moisturise and that includes SPF but I never feel like it is quite enough to protect me in the summer. Anyways this hack kills two birds with one stone. Instead of multiple steps, I suggest mixing a pea sized amount of sun cream with your foundation. It will give you a lighter base, closer to a tinted moisturiser and a very dewy glow throughout the day. If you feel like you prefer more coverage or want to cover blemishes use a concealer and a damp beauty blender to melt the product into your skin giving you the appearance of smooth wet skin. I would highly recommend a suncream which is specifically for your face as it won’t cause breakouts.
Liquid highlight is often over looked as the finish isn’t as strong as some people would like. However, if you want a natural shine I would recommend a liquid formula. They tend to be more glowy and contain smaller particles if any of glitter which makes your skin look extremely healthy. I would recommend the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlight. It comes in seven different shades and gives you an effortlessly luminous glow. These kinds of highlights can be applied all over your face mixed with your foundation or on the high points to give more of a contoured look, along your cheekbones, the tip and bridge of your nose, the brow bone and your cupids bow.
4.Cream Products Instead Of Powders
Using cream products in the sun is always risky as you wouldn’t want them to melt off of your face in the heat. However they will enhance your skin naturally and give you a no-make up, make-up look. To ensure they last throughout the day I would recommend a setting spray to keep everything in place.
5. Lifestyle Changes
The most important way to look after your skin and make sure it is glowing is to look after it from the inside. Firstly, this means drinking enough water. I cannot stress how much this will improve the appearance of your skin. It helps to rid the body of toxins and will purify and hydrate you from the inside out. Secondly, you need to get enough sleep. Or you will look tired and no amount of make up or beauty hacks or eye creams will help to combat those under eye cycles and dull skin. Sleep will help you to repair, renew and refresh your skin. Finally, get in that workout you have been putting off. Not only will you feel less guilty, it will boost your energy levels and give your skin that amazing post-workout glow. Just be sure to wash away sweat as that can cause breakouts. In the long run these changes will reduce stress and improve the appearance of your skin overall without make-up!
