This week, the Brighton Journal got talking with Jack who was standing in the Lanes, in front of a bike covered in flowers. We got chatting and discovered that he was from Aberystwyth, in Wales. Jack had come down to Brighton to help out his friend with Freddies Flowers, which are ‘basically like a veg box of fresh flowers’. Normally they are based in London but the pair were in Brighton to spread the word.

“I used to live in the Jurys Inn hotel and go to the beach all the time, and I’d walk through the Laines. Every time there would be something new or fresh. I’d pop in to shops and just have a chat with people. The people of Brighton are the best thing about the place. Even if it’s a Tuesday afternoon people are still out there having drinks in the sun, it’s just buzzing, it’s vibrant.”

“I’m first language Welsh and last time I was in Brighton I bumped into a stag do of Welsh-speaking ladies. It was a very interesting night. We just talked about Welsh things…”
