Brighton is always famed for being a colourful city, but never more so than during Holi. The festival of colours is celebrated annually in India and Nepal, but has become something of a fixture at the University of Sussex – and everyone loves it!
Hundreds of students gathered outside the Arts A building on Sussex’s Falmer campus to dance, sing, celebrate and throw bright paint at the event, which was organised by the South Asian Student’s Society. The university’s sport department also got stuck in, organising in a sister event in the form of a colour run for the first time.
It was all part of One World Week, a series of celebratory social, cultural and educational events designed to expose all students to a globalised world and diversity of cultures.
Even Adam Tickell, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, got involved, giving a speech and dabbling with some neon pink paint.
So, without further ado, here are the most colourful photos from the event!
