You would think that, as stars of the biggest reality television show in the world, we would have already seen inside Khloe and Kourtney’s houses but apparently not, as Architectural Digest has told us this week. The magazine were given the opportunity to gain a peek into the places not always seen on camera, showing us their incredible homes hidden in the depths of Calabasas, California.
A couple of years ago Kourtney bought an 11,500-square-foot Tuscan-style dwelling and Khloe bought a 10,000-square-foot Mediterranean Revival house from Justin Bieber. Of course, Momager Kris Jenner lives only mere minutes away, as does Kylie, the youngest of the Jenner clan. It is reported that both Khloe and Kourtney employed the incredible abilities of Martyn Lawrence Bullard, a show-business favourite, to decorate their houses to their respective tastes. Kourtney told Architectural Digest “I’m amazed how many styles he can interpret…Khloe’s place is glamorous, which suits her style. Mine is much more restrained and modern, which is perfect for where I am in my life”.
The designer has known the family for years and told the digest “Both of the girls were ready for something fresh, Khloe’s house was a giant play palace built for a boisterious young man. We decided to give it some romance, bringing it back to its Mediterranean roots” and for Kourtney “we wanted to make it sophisticated but family-friendly, she’s all about her kids”. Khloe’s house is full of Moroccan, Turkish and Middle Eastern flourishes with the main attraction being the tented living room presided over by a massive Levantine mirror. Kourtney, however, was less interested in the traditional Moroccan style and leans more to the style of 20th Century design. With a collection that includes Pierre Jeanneret chairs to Jules Leleu desk, the house is full of modernist touches. You can have a look at some of the photos below.
