The Pankhurst flats fire campaign has raised over £9,000 thanks to the amazing generosity of the Brighton community.

On Friday 20th of September, 12 flats burnt down on Pankhurst Avenue leaving 50 people homeless.

Those affected by the fire have been supported by Brighton and Hove City Council, the Red Cross, and Guinness Partnership but huge support has also been given from Brighton’s residents.

Georgina Benson and Carina Cox set up the Go Fund Me page which has now raised over £9,000.

The generosity and good will of the Brighton community has not gone unnoticed. A resident of the Pankhurst flats left a message on the Go Fund Me page that reads:

“I am one of the residents who have lost their home and would like to thank everyone for they’re help at this time, it’s good to know people care.”

If you haven’t donated and would like to, please visit the Go Fund Me page here.
