Pink Floyd’s music is coming back to the city where The Dark Side of the Moon was first played live. Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show will play the Brighton Centre on Friday 25 June 2027 as part of a UK tour announced this week.
The new production was created under the direction of Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters. The band is led by his son, Harry Waters, a pianist, composer and touring musician who has spent years playing in his father’s band. Tickets go on sale at 12 noon on Friday 9 October from www.RogerWatersLegacy.com.
The Show
LEGACY covers Pink Floyd’s peak years, from 1971 to 1979. A 10-piece band plays selections from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. Harry Waters is musical director and plays Hammond B3 organ and piano, and sings.
Roger Waters’ team has designed the staging. High-definition LED screens show a collection of images inspired by Pink Floyd’s original artwork, including visuals Roger created when he was the band’s main creative force.
The show is promoted by Triple A Entertainment and ICON LIVE.
Brighton Local Angle
For Brighton, this date has extra meaning. On 20 January 1972, Pink Floyd gave the first live performance of the suite that became The Dark Side of the Moon at the Brighton Dome. Technical problems stopped the band partway through, and the rest of the suite had to wait for later dates on the tour. The album went on to become one of the best-selling records ever made, and it began, unfinished, a few hundred yards from the Brighton Centre.
Fifty-five years later, Roger Waters’ son will lead a band through that music on Brighton’s seafront. The Brighton Centre’s 2027 calendar is already filling up, with James Blunt in April and Craig David in May. This is likely to be one of the venue’s quickest sell-outs of the year, especially among fans who remember Pink Floyd’s 1970s tours and fans of classic rock acts.
