Police carrying out an investigation into the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy outside the Waitrose store in Eastgate Street, Lewes, last Saturday evening (3rd March) have made significant headway and arrested two suspects. Read a full account of the incident here.
Two local teenage boys (one 14 and one 15 years old) were detained on Monday morning. Their names cannot be released due to legal reasons. They were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and affray and are currently held in police custody.
Lewes Police inspector, Simon Burroughs, said: “Immediately following the disturbance extra patrols were mounted to reassure residents, although this appears to have been an isolated incident.”
