Punk Rock Factory took over Chalk in Brighton, turning the venue into a punk-fuelled playground of nostalgia. Their Stick to the Covers tour proved that no song is off-limits when it comes to their energetic reimaginings, blending childhood classics with raw rock energy.
Kicking things off with How Far I’ll Go from Moana, they immediately set the tone with soaring guitars and pounding drums. Friend Like Me and Under the Sea followed to riotous cheers from the packed-out crowd with each track getting a high-octane makeover
The surprises kept coming with punk renditions of pop hits like C’est La Vie and Back for Good, showing the band’s ability to put their punk spin on anything.Â
Nostalgia was the secret weapon of the night with even 1990s advert jingles sneaking into the set. The Toys R Us theme got one of the biggest cheers of the night, proving that nothing is too random for Punk Rock Factory.
A highlight of the show had to be the You’re Welcome rap battle between two audience members. The crowd lapped it up as the winner walked away with a well-earned merch prize.
Peej’s vocals carried the show with effortless charisma, while Benj’s basslines, Ryan’s guitar riffs and Kob’s relentless drumming kept the momentum at full throttle. Each song was performed with the kind of precision, charm and passion that only comes from a band who know exactly how to entertain.
Wrapping up with the crowd-pleasers We Don’t Talk About Bruno and Let It Go, Punk Rock Factory left Brighton buzzing.
