It was a busy weekend for sport in Brighton – let’s take a look at the best of the action.
As we reported last week, Sussex County Cricket Club completed the signing of Nuwan Kulasekara on a short-term deal. The 33-year-old Sri Lankan played in lieu of the availability of either David Wiese or Mustazifur Rahman, however the latter should be back for the final four games in the South Group of the Natwest T20 Blast.

And he didn’t have to wait long to make his debut as Sussex Sharks played back to back T20 fixtures. Kulasekara took 1-28 in the defeat to Kent on Thursday before taking 2-24 the day after to help Sussex dismiss Middlesex for 146 and claim victory by 7 wickets.
Elsewhere in cricket, Sussex could be heavily represented again for England with seamers Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills in line for the international T20 game against Sri Lanka. Mills would be making his debut after starring for Sussex this season in the T20 Blast competition, while Jordan is something of a fixture in the England white-ball setup.

Summer evening horse racing returns to Brighton Racecourse tomorrow with the first of seven races beginning at 5:40pm. The final race starts at 8:45pm, so be sure to head on up there if you fancy a flutter.
Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the loan signing of former fan favourite Glenn Murray. The 32-year-old joins from fellow south-coasters Bournemouth and will link up with his old club at the start of the season in August. You can see how we think he’ll get on in our extended piece on him here.
