Brighton is well-known for its quirky coffee shops and tea rooms, and we Brits love a good afternoon tea. But, with so many places in Brighton, where are some of the best places to go? Well, Bjournal investigated and we have come up with some of the best places to have afternoon tea.
The Tea Cosy: The only place quirkier than Brighton, Kemptown plays host to some of the most unique and wonderful tea rooms Brighton and Hove has to offer. If you’re looking for a thoroughly British affair, head to The Tea Cosy for a Royal high tea. Immerse yourself in the Royal Family memorabilia and décor as you drink tea and eat finger sandwiches. Located off St. James Street, you really cannot miss it, quite literally.
Metrodeco: Another Kemptown favourite, Metrodeco has a number of afternoon teas to choose from. Served on a three tier stand, you can also forgo the tea for a glass of Prosecco, perhaps a Gin and Tonic, or what about a Gentleman’s afternoon tea with real ale or fine whiskey? The options are endless. They also do gluten and dairy free options, and are also dog friendly. What more could you want?
Talk of Tea: For the tea connoisseur in your life, the Talk of Tea tea room is bound to please. With sixty loose leaf teas, the largest selection in Brighton it has been reported, Talk of Tea has been defined as a Tea House, and Purveyors of Fine Tea. Located just off of Western Road on Spring Street, this tea room is for those who may want more than just a little bit of tea and cake. 
The Grand Brighton: The Independent has described this afternoon tea experience as ‘one of the top 14 Afternoon Teas in the UK’ and a trip to The Grand is sure to be a delicious experience. From hand-cut sandwiches, freshly homemade scones and cakes as well as choosing from an array of teas, including The Grand’s very own blend, head here to enjoy the sea views and something that little bit more luxurious.
Blackbird Tea Rooms: Step into the pre-war era and treat yourself to some traditional tea at the Blackbird Tea Rooms. Gaze at the gorgeous black and white family portraits, use the vintage china and admire the lovely waitresses dressed in the clothing of the time period. The Blackbird Tea Rooms is a treat for anyone, but it’s so popular make sure you get there early!
