The aim is to raise awareness of the £14 million budget cuts planned for Brighton and Hove schools within the next few years. 340 parents and fellow citizens have confirmed their participation on Facebook. The event is open to everyone who wants to support the cause of the SOS campaign which is to reverse the budget cuts.

There will be a massive letter writing involving parents and supporters of the SOS campaign. The letters will be delivered to no other address than 10 Downing Street. Prospective MP candidates Caroline Lucas and Lloyd-Russel Moyle have already confirmed that they will attend the event.

Other than an occasion for parents and fellow citizens to express their concern, the assembly is also meant to be a celebration of Brighton and Hove Schools as they are now, with live music and children’s entertainment throughout the afternoon.
