North America is undoubtedly the biggest hotbed for NBA superstars. But, outside of North America, Europe is the next best place for talented basketball players. And, as you will expect, some players from Europe have gone down in NBA history as legends.
Dirk Nowitzki
In the eyes of many, Dirk Nowitzki, an offensive forward, is the best player to come out of Europe. The German is an NBA title winner and a multiple-time All-Star player. Betting on NBA games has always included individual performances as well as game results, and Nowitzki has put in plenty of great ones over the years.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Right now, many consider Nowitzski the best European player of all time, but in years to come, it could well be Antetokounmpo who hails from Greece. A lot of Antetokounmpo’s achievements have been personal accolades, but they all count.
Pau Gasol
Spaniard Pau Gasol didn’t only excel in the NBA but at international level too. He won a couple of NBA titles with the LA Lakers, and in the opinion of many, he was crucial in the Lakers winning those titles.
There’s only been a trio of players outside North America to win multiple MVP awards, and Jokic is one of them. The Serb has been named MVP twice and is renowned for being of the greatest passers of all time.
Tony Parker
They say it’s difficult for players out of Europe to make it as a lead guard, but Tony Parker certainly did. Out of the players on this list, Parker from France racked up one of the largest hauls of NBA titles, with four to his name.
Luka Doncic
If you’re having a conversation about who could be a future NBA GOAT, then Doncic will be in that discussion. Hailing from Slovenia, his scoring and playmaking abilities see him regularly catch the eye for all the right reasons.
Marc Gasol
Marc Gasol is a player who excelled while with the Grizzlies but then took things to a new level and won the title with the Raptors. And in FIBA tournaments, he was also conducive to Spain’s success.
Rudy Gobert
As far as defensive players go, Rudy Gobert is one of the best ever. His length, ability and intelligence always give him the edge, but some knock him for shortcomings in the playoffs. But they don’t take away from his talent.
Drazen Petrovic
Shooting prowess is arguably what makes Croatian Drazen Petrovic stand out from the crowd. As far as players from Europe are concerned, Petrovic was the first to be named as an All-Star, but his career was cut short after a car accident.
Predrag Stojakovic
The Sacramento King teams of the early ’00s went down in history, and Predrag Stojakovic, from Serbia originally, happened to be one of the NBA’s top shooters at the time, playing a large part in their success. Nobody could touch him for his free throw accuracy at the time, either.
