Tulleys Tulip Fest 2026 opens this April at Tulleys Farm in West Sussex — and with 1.5 million tulips across 100 varieties, it is one of the most spectacular spring events within easy reach of Brighton.
Held at Tulleys Farm in Turners Hill, West Sussex, the festival has become one of the most talked-about spring events in the UK. In previous seasons it sold out repeatedly and generated more social media content than almost any other Sussex attraction. In 2026 it is bigger than ever.
What to Expect in Tulleys Tulip Fest
The fields at Tulleys are planted with over 100 varieties of tulip — early bloomers, mid-season and late-season — carefully sequenced so the colour evolves throughout the season rather than peaking for a single weekend. Rolling waves of red, orange, yellow, pink, white and deep purple move across the farm as April progresses.
Beyond the fields, the festival includes a full programme of attractions. An observation wheel gives a panoramic view over the colourfields. Live roaming musicians move through the tulips throughout the day. The Tulip Bar and Secret Garden offer a place to sit. Dutch pancakes, Dutch-inspired street food and marshmallow toasting give the whole event a distinctly continental feel — somewhere between a Sussex farm and the Netherlands in one afternoon.

Best Time to Visit from Brighton
Planning your visit to Tulleys Tulip Fest 2026? For the best combination of flowers, light and atmosphere, aim for one of two windows.
The first week — 3 to 12 April — offers the longest opening hours (until 20:00) and the first flush of colour, with the early varieties at their peak. Weekday mornings in this period are quieter and the fields are at their most pristine.
The second window is 17 to 19 April — a Friday to Sunday period with evening hours until 20:00. This is typically mid-season peak, when the widest range of varieties are simultaneously in bloom. Evening visits in this window offer the best photography light — golden hour over a field of 1.5 million tulips is genuinely extraordinary.
Avoid school holiday weekends if possible — the festival draws large crowds during Easter week.
