Brighton’s live music scene continues to reinvent itself — and this time, it’s taking exclusivity to a new level. The organisers of the city’s acclaimed “Beach House Sessions” have announced two new intimate shows, each limited to just 25 guests, promising one of the most personal live experiences in the city this winter.

The series, known for its stripped-back performances set against the rhythmic backdrop of the English Channel, has quickly become a Brighton cultural gem. Part gig, part conversation, each session pairs emerging local artists with a small audience in a converted beachside house — the sound of waves often mingling with the music. It’s as Brighton as it gets: creative, coastal, and quietly original.

These two upcoming sessions — scheduled for later this month — are expected to sell out within hours. Organisers say the artists will remain under wraps until closer to the event, adding to the intrigue. “We wanted to capture the feeling of discovering something before the rest of the world does,” said one of the curators. “These nights are about connection — between artist, audience, and the sea itself.”

The format is deceptively simple: a living-room-style performance with no stage, no distance, and no separation between performer and listener. Each set is filmed and later shared online, helping local artists gain exposure far beyond Brighton. Previous editions have featured singer-songwriters, experimental duos and even spoken-word performers — all framed by the raw beauty of the seafront.

For the artists, it’s a rare chance to perform without filters. “It’s the kind of gig where you can hear every breath, every chord,” one performer from last summer’s session recalled. “There’s something incredibly grounding about singing while watching the tide roll in.”

The Beach House Sessions have become a symbol of how Brighton’s creative community thrives outside the mainstream. Where other cities lean on large venues and corporate sponsorships, Brighton continues to celebrate the small and the soulful. The blend of local talent, sea air and intimate connection has made these sessions something of a cult favourite — and a reminder that great music doesn’t need scale, just sincerity.

With only 25 seats per night and no repeat performances, these Beach House Sessions won’t just be concerts — they’ll be memories.
