With the weather forecast looking good and heaps of cool events just about to hit the city, there is nothing standing in your way of an amazing weekend! Party hard, picnic down on the beach, take your dog to a comedy show… Whatever you fancy doing, you will sure find something to do! Here is our list of events that are worth checking out this weekend!

Friday – Jungle Summer Party @ The Volks

Drum’n’Bass and Jungle fans, this is your event! None other than jungle pioneer DJ Aphrodite will play an exclusive 2 hour set taking you through the history of Jungle. He will be supported by various other Drum’n’Bass artists.

Doors open at 11 pm at The Volks Nightclub down at Madeira Drive. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.

Friday – Film Club & Afterparty @ The Old Market

It’s time for another one of TOM’s Film Clubs! Put on your fancy dress and head to The Old Market for a screening of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me”, the prolongation of the canceled TV cult series. The film will be followed by an afterparty in the bar.

Start is at 9 pm tonight at The Old Market.

Friday – Come along, if you dare!

Dive into Brighton’s dark side by joining the Brighton Afterdark Murder Tour. On the menu: ghosts, shocking murders, and tales that will make you shiver in horror! Meet tonight at 9 pm at The Clocktower.

Saturday – Massive Picnic down at the beach!

Fill your picnic basket with some yummy snacks, grab a blanket and head down to the beach to join hundreds of your fellow Brightonians for another Bass Bin’s Beach Picnic at Brighton’s beach! Bringing along their converted bins, The Bass Bin will be playing party tunes all night to make your picnic experience even more enjoyable.

The picnic starts at 6 pm down at Brighton’s West Pier. Please keep in mind, that there are no BBQs allowed in this area.

Saturday – Learn how to capture Brighton’s sunsets like a pro!

Discover Brighton’s iconic seaside through the lens of a high-quality camera! During the Brighton Seaside Sunsets Photography Workshop, professional photographers will teach you classic photography techniques that will help you to finally get that amazing shot of a Brighton sunset that you have always wanted. Exposure, ISO, aperture,… you will be a pro in the end!

Rendezvous at Hove Lawns around 6 pm on Saturday. Exact details will be communicated to participants via email. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Saturday – Disco Lovers Party @ The Tempest Inn

Brighton Spiegeltent hosted a Disco Lovers Party and the event sold out pretty quick! If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets, here is your next chance! English Disco Lovers is coming to the Tempest Inn on Saturday for a free event! And the best thing, the party will take place outside in the pub’s terrace area!

Starts at 9 pm on Saturday at The Tempest Inn, Brighton. Free entry.

Saturday – After the festival is before the party!

Heading back from Hove Park after a great day at the Funk The Format Festival and not in the mood to go home just yet? Here is how to get rid of that problem! Join the official Funk The Format Afterparty with a hot mix of funk, soul, hip-hop, and jungle.

Doors open at 10 pm at The View in Hove. Buy your tickets in advance to be sure to get in.

Sunday – Comedy about dogs with dogs @ Brighton Open Air Theatre

Comedians Zoe Lyons, Phil Jerrod and Simon Evans will give you their point of view of the secret life of our beloved furry friends. They will be joined (and made fun of) on stage by their very own dogs, Mr Groucho Barx, Burt Reynolds and Talisker for Brighton’s first dog friendly stand-up comedy.

Barking! – The [Comedy] Dog Show will start at 3 pm on Sunday at Brighton’s Open Air Theatre. Dogs are welcome!

Sunday – ZU and Jessica Moss @ Green Door Store

What better way to end an amazing weekend than with some great live music? Having been in the music business for 15 years now, Italian band ZU have performed on stages all over the world, playing their experimental mix of metal, math, no-wave, noise, and electronics. As part of their summer UK tour, they will be performing at The Green Door Store. Support will come from Jessica Moss, violinist and background singer of Canadian post-rock band  Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band.
