Donatello’s @ Brighton Place

Situated in the heart of Brighton’s much loved Laines sits quaintly authentic Italian restaurant, Donatello. After opening sister restaurant, Pinocchio in 1987, Sardinian born Pietro Addis acquired a second restaurant, Donatello. The business has stayed in the family since then, now being run by Pietro’s three sons alongside around 100 members of staff. The traditional story behind Donatello is clear to see in its menu and its setting. Serving up a huge variety of classic Italian dishes from pasta to pizza to risotto to tiramisu to Aperol spritz. With an intimate interior as well as lovely outdoor seating, this is the perfect place to take your date for a romantic taste of Italy right on your doorstep. The restaurant also offers great value 2 course and 3 course set menus (which Pietro himself pioneered as a “new concept” many years ago), meaning it’s very much an affordable evening out.

 VIP Pizza @ Old Steine

The centrally located VIP Pizza prides itself on serving authentic Neapolitan pizza right in the heart of Brighton. A family run business spanning five generations, VIP Pizza’s roots lie in Naples, where they opened their first shop in 1845. The intimate restaurant offers a wide variety of pizzas which are made fresh with homemade sourdough before being cooked in a 100% traditional wood burning pizza oven. Being based in Brighton of course they offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options so everyone can enjoy a taste of Naples.

Breeze Brasserie @ Trafalgar Street

Breeze Brasserie is a relaxed and upbeat restaurant situated in the bustling Trafalgar Street in the North Laines. The Salt Room @ King’s Road

Headed by the team who opened The Coal Shed, this upscale restaurant has been on the seafront for just two years now. Priding themselves on being a modern British seafood grill, The Salt Room focuses on “celebrating the fruits of the sea”. They claim their emphasis focuses on sustainability as well as championing local produce. With an extensive wine list and inventive cocktails, you’ll be able to sit back and talk over a drink in style here in their stylish and modern interior. The highly coveted eatery also offers a range of events from cocktail master classes to afternoon tea to BYO Mondays, where you can bring your own wine with you.
