The Maydays Confessions @Komedia, Friday 05 April
The concept is very simple: before the show starts, the audience is asked to write down their stories and secrets. These are then turned into songs, sketches and beguiling stories. During the evening, the Maydays will be joined by guest improv superstars How to Date a Magical Creature for extra laughs.

SUDS Presents: A Clockwork Orange @Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Friday 05 and Saturday 06 April
With the help of Michael Attenborough, an all-female production team from Sussex University Drama Society will perform A Clockwork Orange, but not as you know it. Anthony Burgess, the author of the novel that inspired Kubrik’s film of the same name, was not happy with the way the famous director glorified violence, so he rewrote the story in A Clockwork Orange: A Play with Music. The show will deal with themes such as gang culture, juvenile delinquency, toxic masculinity, morality and justice.
Moves Festival @The Old Market, Saturday 06 April
Moves Festival is back for its second edition, after a successful, sold-out first event back in 2017. The festival is a celebration of music, photography and video. On the night you can expect live gigs on the main stage, acoustic performances, art displays, interactive panel discussions, photo exhibitions and video screenings. This new edition will also include two club events.

Soul of the City Spring Gig @St Martin’s Church Hall, Saturday 06 April
Soul of the City Monday and Tuesday choir will be performing two gigs this Saturday to celebrate spring. With support from Mara Simpson, the choir will perform songs of all genres, including pop, soul, rock, and some a cappella pieces. The choir will support the local charity Brighton and Hove Food partnership, which helps fighting child obesity and runs gardening projects for people with dementia.
Jazz Breakfast with Mike Hatchard @Ropetackle Arts Centre, Sunday 07 April
For this month’s edition of the very popular Sunday Jazz breakfast, Mike Hatchard will be joined by Clack Tracey (drums) and Derek Nash (saxes). Tracey first started playing the drums aged 13, and he’s had a very successful career playing alongside his father and many visiting American artists. Nash has been a member of the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra since 2004, and he is best known for his energetic and charismatic appearances.
Lewis and Dav’s Energetic, Soulful and Acrobatic Music Show @All Saints Centre, Sunday 07 April
Lewis and Dav’s are two young musicians from Strout in Gloucestershire. They first started performing for fun and soon grew in popularity: they have already performed in many festivals across the country and have toured the UK and Ireland twice. During this live performance you’ll be able to experience their unique show. One popular feature is the “Request Roulette”, where they ask the audience to put the name of a song into a hat. The duo will then pick a random song at the end of the first set, and they only have a few minutes to learn it before they perform it live.
