When you go to The Great Escape’s website to check out for festival tickets, it will say ‘Sold Out’ for most of the ticket categories and you will probably be disappointed. But what if I told you that you can still enjoy three days full of live music and great fun even without having tickets for the official lineup? Don’t believe me? Then you should check this out!
Along with the Great Escape, The Alternative Escape is back in Brighton too. Often referred to as its ‘little brother’, Alternative Escape runs alongside the main festival and features hundreds of new bands and artists from all over the UK and Europe who will perform in smaller venues all over the city. And the best thing: it’s completely free.
So no worrying about tickets and no queuing to get a place for that concert you absolutely want to see. Whenever you feel like going, just grab your phone and check out what gig is on and where you have to go. Just like for The Great Escape, there is an Alternative Escape Planner that helps you to keep track of all the gigs and stay up to date with the latest information.
From 12 o’clock next Thursday afternoon onwards, there will be bands and solo artists performing non-stop in venues such as the Black Lion pub, the Marlborough Theatre, Hotel Pelirocco or the Fiddler’s Elbow. They will be on till late in the night before taking up again on Friday and Saturday with an equally charged programme.
