With the transfer window waiting to fly open on 1st July, negotiations are already in full swing at this early stage of ‘silly season’.
Brighton fans will not be pleased to learn that a host of clubs are reportedly chasing highly-rated centre-half Lewis Dunk. Newcastle United, Everton and Crystal Palace are all allegedly in pursuit of the 24-year-old, with the latter having supposedly tabled a bid of roughly £5m. The Mirror, however, suggest that the Seagulls could be holding out for £10m.
After securing the signing of Motherwell defender Ben Hall, Brighton appear to be looking to Scotland again after the Courier suggested they are closely following young striker PJ Crossan of newly promoted Dunfermline. However, the 17-year-old is being chased by Scottish Premier League giants Celtic which could complicate Brighton’s pursuit.
As the summer goes on and especially when the transfer window opens, there will certainly be more speculation regarding incoming transfers at the Albion as they seek promotion next season.
