Big coats. Stripy, baggy trousers. Corduroys. Fur. Colourful hair. Smart vintage shoes. It’s raining, it’s foggy and we’re all feeling wintery but when has that ever stopped the weird & wonderful, unique population of Brighton from looking snazz-fantastic!? Never.
Luisa, 18, Brightonian is studying world development and health & social care at Brighton University as well as working at a nursing home. Luisa says she loves Brighton because it’s packed of nice people, good food and good shops. She does most of her shopping in the lanes although she does find herself picking out items from shops at Churchill Square too.
Luisa’s message to humanity: “Peace and love.”
Hector, 19, originally from Hamphire moved over to Brighton to study environmental science at University. Hector likes being next to the sea and loves the lanes, the shops and the music culture we have here. “Everything about Brighton is good.” Hector usually purchases his items of clothing from retro & vintage boutiques.
Hector’s message to humanity: “Long live the queen and her fascist regime”
Luke, 20 originally from Crawley, studies chemistry at Brighton University. He loves the diversity we have in this town “how everything is non-judgemental down here, is brilliant”. Luke also says that the Brighton night-life is much better than anywhere else he’s been. He’s wearing items purchased at a variety of shops like Primark, Debenhams, Asda and “somewhere in the lanes”.
Luke’s message to humanity : “Don’t do 14 jagerbombs in a row. That was a bad idea.”
Abbie, 16, from Haywards Heath studies photography at Brighton city college and enjoys it very much! Abbie loves Brighton for it’s variety of people and vast music scene. If she were an animal, she’d like to be a cat. “They seem to do a lot of sleeping and I like sleeping.” Abbie does a lot of he shopping at the ‘To Be Worn Again” boutique in the North Laine! “It’s where I got my coat from.”
Abbie’s message to humanity: “Be yourself.”
