It’s been a slightly rainy, dreary week here in the South East, but that hasn’t stopped the residents of Brighton looking effortlessly chic. We headed to North Laine to go on the hunt for some of the most stylish Autmunal outfits, to give you some much needed inspiration as the weather gets colder.
The Hannahs
I spotted the two Hannah’s peering at some jewellery at North Laine’s Kensington Gardens. I was drawn to Hannah’s (pictured right) wide leg trousers, which she explains were inspired by Maya Jama’s new collection from Pretty Little Thing. She paired her trousers with a green off the shoulder sweater, a pair of red retro sunglasses and a matching scrunchie.
Hannah (pictured left) explains that she bought her slouchy orange coat in a vintage shop in Copenhagen. The pair agree that their favourite place to shop is Snoopers Paradise and they both enjoy trawling through the charity shop clothes rails on London Road.
Trudy and The RomanceÂ
I spotted Trudy and The Romance outside To Be Worn Again. I couldn’t help but remark on their boy-band-look and they quickly assured me that they were in fact 50s rock and roll band. Dan, Joe, Matt and Joey explain that they are due to play a gig at The Hope and Ruin later on, hence the smart attire.
Their style icons range from John Lennon to Nick Cage and they all agree they enjoy sifting through charity shops for vintage, second-hand pieces. The boys are originally from Liverpool but all comment on how much they enjoy Brighton’s vibe and character.
Talia
Talia was spotted on Ship Street, all wrapped up in a snuggly black outfit. She sports loosely-fitted, dark jeans, black doc-martens with mustard laces and a black, high-neck puffer coat. She says the cold inspired her cosy, comfortable outfit and says her favourite place to shop is Zara or Beyond Retro if she’s looking for something more vintage.
