Fitbit are stepping up their fashion game, and are counting every step along the way. The fitness tracking brand debuted their upcoming collection on Sunday with the ready-to-wear label Public School. The collection was debuted during Public School’s during its Autumn/Winter 2016 show at New York Fashion Week.

This collection comes after announcing its new family of fitness trackers, Fitbit Alta. The brand have long been establishing themselves as the fitness accessory brand and have used the show on Sunday to present Fitbit as both a stylish and functional fitness tracker. Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, the co-founders of Public School said “together with Fitbit, our vision is to help people move effortlessly from day to night with a look that reflects their unique style and attitude – and motivates them to stay healthy and fit”. The unique designs feature fine metals and custom details, along with sporty prints and inspirational graphic phrases. Public School are the epitome of a cool brand, so this is big news for Fitbit as many have opted against the fitness tracker because it’s just not that stylish.

However, this isn’t the first time Fitbit have collaborated with a fashion designer. In 2014, Tory Burch designed a collection of brassy accessories for the company, and is currently working on another release. It is thought that while Burch is attracting mainly female customers with her designs, Public School will reach both sexes and appeal to those outside the Fitbit demographic, such as young people. The new Fitbit, Alta, is a sleek black model that looks much more appealing than the original. There is no word yet as to when the accessories will actually drop, but the Fibit Alta is launched in March.
