Happy Monday! Your fridge is completely uncool. Sorry for that crippling insult but it’s true, there is now such a thing as a cool fridge. Dolce & Gabbana have collaborated with Italian fridge manufacturer Smeg to create the coolest and most expensive fridge known to man. Seriously.
The collaboration stemmed from a love of Italian craftsmanship, but why they decided on fridges we don’t know. One can assume that it was because Mr Dolce and Mr Gabbana could not find a refrigerator that truly showed their status as high fashion legends, so decided to design one themselves. There are 100 hand-painted fridges, decorated by local Sicilian artists. The fridges will then be on sale at Salone Internazionale del Mobilen, a furniture fair in Milan, for £30,000. Bet that American style fridge in Curries seems pretty cheap now.
Dolce & Gabbana told GQ “The collaboration between the premium appliance manufacturer and world famous fashion house has materialised through a united passion for ‘Made in Italy’ excellence, a deep respect for family tradition and importance of maintaining local roots’. An admirable reason, and let’s be honest, if you had the money you would totally buy one. The fridges are gorgeous, and will no doubt be coming to a celebrity Instagram feed near you.
