You may remember bjournal reporting on a bizarre but adorable trend in China that involved people clipping plastic plants onto their heads, well now we’ve got something even better on the hair trend front. Hair tattoos. You read that right. Hair tattoos suddenly became a thing last week when Kylie Jenner uploaded a photo to Instagram with a metallic strip in her hair. Of course, if there’s any wacky trend the youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan will be behind it. According to Cosmopolitan, they work in a similar way to applying temporary tattoos on your skin. Style your hair first, then place the tattoo face down in the desired position, dab it with water, peel off the backing paper and voila. To get rid of them, either brush or wash your hair. Simple. With summer ending we’ve moved on from the festival favourites of hair-chalk, flower crowns and dip dye and have gone for something more sophisticated, and in the case of dip dye, a lot less permanent. Unfortunately, they tend to look the best on straight dark hair, which is bad news for us blondes though as winter draws in, many of us will opt for a darker hair colour on our next trip to the hairdressers. No word on whether you can buy them in the UK yet, but the pioneer of the hair tattoo, Scϋnci, sell products in Claire’s Accessories so I’m sure it won’t be long before they hit the British High Street.
