Of Land Sea and Sky arrives at The Old Market this May, as one of Brighton Festival’s most ambitious seasons yet brings three weeks of immersive performance, art and storytelling to Hove.
The Old Market in Hove is presenting one of its most ambitious seasons to date — a three-week immersive series exploring our relationship with nature, community and the world around us.”
Of Land Sea and Sky Brighton 2026 Old Market Hove runs from 2–23 May at The Old Market, 11a Upper Market Street, Hove. It forms part of Brighton Festival’s 60th edition — and reflects the kind of programming the festival does best: personal, political and genuinely surprising.
Of Land Sea and Sky Brighton 2026: A Season Built Around Connection
The season brings together immersive exhibitions, live music, film screenings, sound baths, club nights and adventure talks — all rooted in the same theme: the land beneath our feet, the sea that defines Brighton’s coastline, and the skies above.
At a time when so much can feel fragmented, The Old Market has created a programme that invites audiences to gather, listen and rediscover their relationship with the natural world together.

Why This Matters
As part of the Brighton Festival 2026 Old Market programme, this season reflects a growing shift towards immersive, experience-led events.
Helen Jewell, Creative Director of The Old Market, describes the programme as an opportunity to reconnect audiences not only with art, but with the environments that shape everyday life.
Of Land Sea and Sky Brighton 2026 is not just a programme — it is a position. Brighton has always been shaped by its relationship to nature and community. This season makes that connection visible.
