Sussex Police are seeking to identify two young men in connection to the theft of a bicycle in Hove.
The bike is worth £500 and had been locked up outside the King Alfred Leisure Centre on Wednesday 14 November.
CCTV captures two young men at around 5.10pm on the same day, who are believed to have unpicked the bike lock before leaving the scene with it.
The first suspect is described as white, mid to late teens, medium build and wearing a green jacket, a green cap, and grey tracksuit bottoms.
The second suspect is described as white, mid to late teens, of slim build, with short light brown hair and wearing a white and dark blue jacket and jeans.
Unfortunately, this incident is commonplace, with staggering statistics from Sussex Police claiming one bike is stolen every minute in the UK.
Sussex Police suggest registering your bike with ‘Immobilise’, the UK national property register, which helps stolen items be more easily returned to their rightful owner.
When securing your bike in a public place, the police suggest investing in a decent lock and to lock-up your bike in an area which is well lit and covered by a CCTV camera.
If anyone witnessed any suspicious behaviour in this area at this time or witnessed the theft please report online or call 101 quoting 1489 of 14/11.
Alternatively, you can visit the Crimestoppers website or contact the independent charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
