Preston Manor, a beautiful historic house decorated and furnished in Edwardian style, located near Brighton Preston Park, is hosting an open ‘family-friendly’ day on Saturday 28th of May.
With free access from 10am to 4.30 pm, visitors will be allowed to visit the building and its gardens for free, included the walled kitchen garden, usually closed to the public. In Preston Village and in Preston Manor itself, guests will be provided with several leisure and cultural activities able to entertain and delight everyone’s taste.
From the -haunted?- Manor’s tour to Doreen Valiente’s witchcraft and magic artefacts collection, from archaeologists at work in the ground to the Roman items collection from the Royal Pavilion and Museums, Preston Village community heritage will be on full show for the whole day: visitors will also have the possibility to talk to the Manor’s bee keepers and to watch croquet matches on the Manor’s lawns. Preston Croquet Club will serve refreshments and cream afternoon teas, and it will also be possible to visit the medieval St Peter’s Church together with a book, bric-a-brac and cake sale, and with its unusual graves located in the churchyard.
The event, part of Brighton Fringe festival programme, is an amazing opportunity to discover and explore one of most historic and picturesque villages in Brighton!
