This Weeks Top Gigs in Brighton!

With so many gigs in Brighton this month, we’ve had a look at the standout shows happening this week.

Mbongwana Star Brighton
Mbongwana Star play at Komedia on the 13th June

Monday 13th June: American pop band Beach House are on at the All Saints Church in Brighton,whilst California indie band Tomorrows Tulips are at the Prince Albert. Also performing tonight at Komedia are Congolese band Mbongwana Star, a critically acclaimed seven piece band from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Tuesday 14th June: Upcoming Icelandic group Samaris are bringing their electronic pop to Patterns, whilst rock supergroup Dead Men Walking are taking to the stage at Komedia. Dead Men Walking are made up of already acclaimed rock musicians whose relentless touring has lead to four live albums. Also on tonight are Safia, who are bringing their Embracing Me Tour to the Green Door Store. Safia are an Australian indie group who play a very broad range of style but promise exciting live shows.

Wednesday 15th June: Infamous punk band Public Image are playing on Wednesday at Concorde 2. Formed by John Lydon of the Sex Pistols, this promises to be a interesting show of experimental rock.  Brighton based rock band Phoria are taking to the stage at the Haunt, with tickets still available. Having constantly drawn comparisons with Radiohead, Phoria’s show at the Haunt is  not to be missed.

YUNG will be at the Prince Albert on Thursday 16th June

Thursday 16th June: Thursday sees exciting young band YUNG play at the Prince Albert. YUNG originate from Denmark but are making a name for themselves all over Europe thanks to exciting live shows and new album A Youthful Dream. The Prince Albert will sell out quickly so grab a chance to see this band before they really make it big.

Friday 17th June: Canadian synth band Ayria will be at the Prince Albert with special guests Inertia. Meanwhile, Brighton based band Cold Pumas will play a show at the Hope and Ruin. Cold Pumas will bring their melodic post punk sound to Brighton with tickets still available now.

Big Deal
Big Deal will be at the Hope and Ruin

 Saturday 18th June: Legendary British jazz band Incognito will play at Concorde 2 as a part of their latest tour whilst New Zealand singer-songwriter Ladyhawke will play at the Haunt. Also performing Saturday night are  rock band Big Deal, who play at the Hope and Ruin. Big Deal have had a lot of support from BBC Radio 6 so seeing them in a small venue might not happen that often! Finally, DJ Oxide will be on at Concorde 2.

Tom Bailey will be taking to Concorde 2’s stage Sunday night

Sunday 19th June: Rock band Humanity’s Last Breath are at Sticky Mikes Frog Bar whilst English songwriter Tom Bailey is at Concorde 2. Having been active for over 30 years, Tom Bailey will know how to entertain his crowd when he takes to the stage Sunday night.
