Once again, Brighton is packed with live music this week. From the big to the small, we’ve had a look at some of the top picks for gigs this week.
Monday 20th June: American indie band Car Seat Headrest will be at the Hope and Ruin. Critically acclaimed and touring a new album, CSH are perfect for anyone looking for the next big thing.
Tuesday 21st June: Fresh from a nomination for Alternative Album of The Year, Braids will be playing an exciting show at Patterns. Also playing Tuesday night are River Become Ocean, a Brighton based rock band who are celebrating the release of their new EP December over at Sticky Mikes Frog Bar. American folk rock band Woods are making an appearance in Brighton on Tuesday as they play what will be an atmospheric show at The Hope & Ruin.
Wednesday 22nd June: The Haunt plays host to American poet and rapper Saul Williams. Williams music is described as alternative and experimental, and will not want to be missed for anyone who is a fan of hip hop or alternative poetry. Also performing Wednesday night are the Brian Johnestown Massacre, an experimental rock band from America. Playing two nights at Concorde 2, these are perfect for anyone who likes psychedelic rock. Fans of blues should head to Komedia as Delta Saints will be bringing their mix of rock and blues there from 8pm. And finally Ben Folds and yMusic are appearing at the Brighton Dome as their critically acclaimed show makes a stop by the seaside.
Thursday 23rd June: Folkestone band Native People will be playing at The Joker on London Road. Very upcoming, the indie group are certainly going to be ones to watch so don’t miss the chance to see them whilst they are in Brighton. Brian Johnestown Massacre will play a second date at Concorde 2.
Saturday 25th June: Coalition are playing host to singer songwriter Shakka. The indie and hip hop influenced artist will be at Coalition from 11pm with tickets starting at £5.50 in advance.
Sunday 26th June: Six piece soul act St. Paul and the Broken Bones are playing a headline show at Concorde 2. The group formed in 2012 and since then have released an album and 2 EPs, perfect to cure the Sunday evening blues. Also playing Sunday night are Radar Men From The Moon, an instrumental rock band. RMFTM will be at the Hope and Ruin with support from Tales of Murder and Dust.
