Calling all plant-based foodies! The famous vegan döner kebab shop ‘What the Pitta!” is opening on 16th November in East Street, Brighton.
The well-known vegan joint has three famed locations in Camden, Croydon, and Shoreditch, dominating the London kebab scene since 2016.
Offering customers a more healthy, and cruelty-free meal option than traditional kebabs, the Turkish inspired food chain boasts a 100% vegan menu. Ingredients are made fresh from scratch everyday, including their humous, tzatziki, sauces and breads. Is your mouth watering yet?!

The deliciously green menu offers some classic meat and dairy favourites made with vegan substitutes, such as ‘Döner and chips’ and ‘Couscous salad box’ topped with ‘meat’ pieces.
What the Pitta! founders Cem Yidiz and Rojdan Gul are huge advocates for the lifestyle that going Meat Free More Often is beneficial to both the environment and your lifestyle. It has been scientifically proven that adopting a plant-based diet is crucial to avoid catastrophic climate change, with research suggesting that at the very least, we should all be following a ‘flexitarian’ diet where meat is only consumed once a week.
The company’s mission statement supporting plant-based eating is published clearly on their website, allowing customers to know that: “by choosing a Vegan Döner over a meaty alternative you too will contribute towards these global goals [sustainable development] and help not only yourself but us too to thrive sustainably.”
It is clear that the population is shifting more towards a vegan palette, causing a surge in the number of vegan eateries around the country. Brighton shall welcome What the Pitta! to The Lanes with open arms, as it is estimated the city is one of the most vegan friendly locations in the UK.
