Here at Brighton Journal we’re a sucker for a little look into Brighton’s rich and diverse history, as we know a lot of you are too! This free guided tour at The Grand does just that – join them on Friday to learn more about the history of the building itself, as well as events that have happened there throughout the year. Brighton Rocks Film Festival Screening – Friday 25th May
Brighton Rocks Annual Film Festival returns with a screening of this year’s finalists on Friday at Duke’s @ Komedia – Brighton’s favourite cinema.

Regency Town House Open Day – Saturday 26th May
Another of Brighton’s historic buildings opens it’s door to invite guests to learn more of it’s history. Join them on Saturday for mini tours, costume displays as well as food tasting and much more! It is completely free, but you do need to secure a ticket in advance.

Rock Up Movie Night on Brighton Beach – Saturday 26th May
What’s better than a sunny bank holiday evening? A sunny bank holiday evening spent watching films on the beach, of course. Tribal Wave Movie Nights return this Saturday, for their 5th evening showcasing local cinematographers – this time on our very own Brighton beach, instead of the white cliffs of Shoreham. The evening will be raising money for Surfers Against Sewage, an amazing national charity that works along the entirety of the British coastline, aiming to empower and inspire local communities to protect their beaches and oceans. Brighton Festival Choir performing Baltazzar’s Feast – Sunday 27th May
Brighton Festival Chorus are accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra this Sunday, for what is guaranteed to be an unforgettable performance of Baltazzar’s Feast at The Brighton Dome.

The Life and Rhymes of Benjamin Zephaniah – Sunday 27th May
One of Britiain’s most celebrated poet’s, Benjamin Zephaniah, is back with his first tour in eight years, that will visit Brighton on Sunday. The tour coincides with the release of Zephaniah’s autobiography, and during which he will explore how throughout his life he fought injustice and discrimation. This one is truly not to be missed.

Hove Carnival returns! – Monday 28th May
The much loved Hove Carnival returns this Bank Holiday Monday, with a huge variety of activities and entertainment for everyone to enjoy – from dog shows and live music, to cake stalls and fun fair rides. Perfect family day out! Proceeds go to Martlets Hospice.

Andy Panayi Jazz Trio @ The Paris House – Monday 28th May
Award winning Jazz musician, Andy Panayi, will be bringing his incredible skill to The Paris House. Andy has an impressive list of previous collabortations, including Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney and many more. The opportunity to witness his talent is surely not to be missed this bank holiday.
