There is loads to do this weekend here in Brighton so here are the standout picks for you to get involved with:

If you’re still bitter about England’s defeat at the hands of underdogs Iceland, why not head down to the big screen Sunday and see them take on France. Support the fairy tale or support the favourites, it is sure to be one of the best games of the tournament. Tickets start at £5.

The Love Supreme Festival kicks of this weekend. The jazz festival returns to Brighton for it’s third year with a bigger and better line up than ever before. The action will take place at Glynde Place over three days, with Kelis and and Grace Jones amongst the headline acts. Tickets and more information here.

Brighton Dance Network are performing an evening of locally sourced contemporary dance at the Brighton Dome this Friday night. The grassroots project will see
several local contributors to the evening showcasing the best of Brighton talent. The showcase takes place at the Studio Theatre at the Brighton dome from 7:30pm.

To beat the Sunday night blues head to Komedia to see some Edinburgh previews. Jamili Maddix & Sofie Hagen will be bringing their stand up shows to Komedia to try them out on audiences before the Fringe festival later this summer. Tickets are £8 and great value to see two upcoming comedians in an intimate setting. The shows are not always finished, but still well worth the ticket price. Celebrate the music of The Who this weekend in Brighton. The Theatre Royal are celebrating 50 years of The Who’s music with a timeless and unique concert. Hear favourites from Tommy and Quadrophenia as well as all the other Who classics. Accept these substitutes.

If it’s raining why not head to the Sea Life Centre with any bored kids this weekend. The centre has turtles and clown fish and many many other breeds of fish that are sure to occupy any little ones should the weather stay bad. Tickets vary but can be got online at a discounted price!

Paddle Round the Pier this weekend! If the weather is OK, head down to the beach to take part in a festival of activities for all ages – a  summer weekend of water sports and acitivies. Perfect for the whole family, with events in and out of the sea. There are prizes and competitions, and loads of opportunities to get wet.

Head down to Hove Lawns to take part in the events, run by volunteers.
