C U Later, Simulator – Work-in-Progress Performance on 1st June
Brighton is about to get a dose of surreal, sparkly, and subversive fun as rising drag star Curly brings their debut hour C U Later, Simulator to the Brighton Fringe 2025. Audiences can catch this work-in-progress performance on 1st June at 18:45 at Half A Camel at The Caxton Arms. Entry is Free/PWYC.
Presented by Curly & Cat Say Meow, C U Later, Simulator is a genre-defying musical drag comedy set inside a bizarre life simulation game. Expect a riotous mix of music, cabaret, and chaos as Curly navigates the absurdity of existence—from speaking in Simlish to evangelical congregations, to awkward queer awakenings, and the daily grind of a late-capitalist nightmare.
This one-of-a-kind debut blends hilarious, horny, and heartfelt original songs with quick-fire character changes, camp costumes, and biting social satire. It’s equal parts fever dream and fabulous revelation.
Created and performed by Sophie Walmsley, a multi-disciplinary artist and East 15 Acting School graduate, C U Later, Simulator is deeply rooted in Walmsley’s own experience of growing up queer and non-binary in a religious environment, while juggling identities as a church kid, actor, musician—and now, drag artist and comic.
“This show is about stepping back, resisting categorisation, and letting all sides of yourself co-exist,” Walmsley says.
Having made a name for themselves in London’s alternative drag scene with sold-out shows at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and Rio Cinema, and reaching the finals of Top of the Slops and Lipsync 1000, Curly is now set to dazzle Edinburgh Fringe audiences later this summer following this Brighton preview and further WIP shows at London’s Museum of Comedy.
C U Later, Simulator is supported by the 2025 Keep it Fringe Fund.
