The Brighton and Hove Council are giving residents the chance to have their say on a significant future development plan in a popular Brighton park.
Queen’s Park is a beautiful spot away from the hustle and bustle of the inner-city. It boasts luscious plants and a beautiful pond, making it a popular place to relax.
Brighton and Hove Council want to ensure the longevity of the site. In order to do so, they have made new proposals in order to conserve the park.
As opposed to jumping into it instantaneously, they are looking to involve those who will visit the park. They want to find the best solution.
This form, posted by a member of the Facebook group Hanover Community Notice Board, shows the possible amendments that the council have proposed.
The first proposes to “Increase marginal planting in the pond and install a dipping platform to create a new observation point over the water and improve the experience of interacting with the wildlife.”
The second is to “Enhance the feel and function of the Quiet Garden by opening up new paths, vistas and views to the pond, cascade and clocktower.”
Both plans are exciting and would see a huge change to the face of the park. Have your say by voting here by the 8th of August.
