To start, there is a protest scheduled for this evening at Victoria Station. Angry commuters are being encouraged my protest organisers to go and have their voices heard in the wake of the revised timetable released last week. The protest is due to kick off at 5;30 – perfect to annoy rush hour commuters.

A petition has been launched to officially strip Southern Rail of their franchise. The petition has gained 2,400 signatures – only 600 from the target goal. Anyone wanting to back the cause can do so here.
Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision that tool place on Elm Grove on Saturday. A 27 year old cyclists has been left in a critical condition after being hit by a lorry at about 1 on Saturday afternoon. The driver has since been arrested and bailed until September on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. Albion midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey is on the verge of a move to Rotheram. The England U-21 international is said to have agreed personal terms with the Yorkshire club but no fee has been agreed between the two clubs. Forster-Caskey has been linked to Nottingham Forest already in this window, so it is unlikely he will be a part of the Seagulls set-up as they look for promotion next season.
Today marked the first day of the new revised timetable for Southern. The timetable has cut a reported 341 trains a day from the service, including major links into Brighton from Seaford – who incidentally are protesting tomorrow night at 6:30.
