Friday – Foundations w/ The Busy Twist @ Patterns

Every Friday at Patterns sees Foundations team up with the best of Brighton’s local talent from the underground music scene, celebrating up-and-coming producers and DJs, a wide offering of music genres, as well as new promotion and event companies such as Grass Roots and 23 Degrees.

This Friday is a special night for them, as they present ‘The Busy Twist’, purveyors of world and tropical music that promise to keep your feet moving till the early hours. Always one to create an immersive clubbing experience, Foundations will be decorating Patterns with carnival decor to match the music, which Foundations claim will traverse through “tropical sounds, afrobeat, dancehall, soca UK funky and UK garage.”

Friday/Saturday – Brighton Viva! Vegan Festival @ Hilton Hotel

Spanning across two days, this vegan festival features 100 stalls offering a variety of vegan food, gifts, clothes, accessories, as well as enough free samples to constitute lunch.

On top of this, there will be workshops and cookery demos, offering advice on how to make the most of the vegan lifestyle.

Entry is only £5, or free for under 16s!

Saturday – Feat. present ‘Faithless’ DJ set @ The Arch

From the people behind Worried About Henry, an underground music promoter in Brighton that has been dominating the scene over the last year, brings new night ‘Feat.’ that aims to bring the world’s biggest names in electronic music to Brighton.

Their launch event brings a DJ set from one half of Faithless, Sister Bliss. Faithless are a renowned act that are often seen as one of the largest electronic acts in the scene, with a career that spans 20 years, an impressive six top ten singles, and over 15 million records sold worldwide.

With instantly recognisable songs such as ‘Insomnia’, ‘God is a DJ,’ or ‘We Come One,’ this will be a euphoric clubbing experience like none other.

The Mine 5th Birthday w/ D1 @ Rialto Theatre

This one is for the underground music aficionados, with events company The Mine putting a huge focus on sound system culture and deep, minimal sounds.

This night is taking place in a unique and often underused venue for music events, the Rialto Theatre, a Grade II listed Gothic Chapel deep in the heart of Brighton.

Headlined by dubstep producer and DJ D1, the vinyl only event promises to be a special night for The Mine, celebrating their 5th birthday, and is surely not one to miss!

Sunday – Brighton Record Fair @ Komedia

Take a trip to the North Laine in order to catch the monthly record fair down at Komedia. The fair, open from 10am to 4pm, is free entry and sells a wide range of genres with specialist sellers of reggae, rock, punk, soul, jazz and blues.

Whether you are after a particular record, or just want to discover some new rarities, then this is definitely worth the trip!

Sunday – The Brighton Market @ Brighton Marina

The Brighton Market is open monthly down at the idyllic Brighton Marina, and puts a large emphasis on local products and produce from the Sussex region.

Come down for this month’s instalment on Sunday to explore what Sussex has to offer, as well as watching life performances from buskers and musicians, as well as a wide range of varying family activities. As always, the market is free entry and is perfect for those lazy sundays.
